What types of die castings are high-pressure die casting and low-pressure die casting suitable for producing respectively?

High-pressure die casting is suitable for manufacturing thin-walled, structurally complex, mass-produced parts with intricate dimensions, such as automotive transmission housing components, instrument panel bracket parts, home appliance shell parts (e.g., washing machine inner drum components), and electronic product parts (e.g., laptop shell parts). It enables high-speed stamping to form complex structures with high efficiency, making it ideal for mass production.

Low-pressure die casting is mainly used to produce thick-walled components with high density and strict mechanical performance requirements, such as automotive wheel hubs, engine cylinder/cylinder head parts, and key structural parts of motorcycles. Its stable filling reduces defects like air holes and shrinkage porosity, resulting in castings with high density and good strength, which can meet requirements for pressure resistance and impact resistance. It is suitable for components that require subsequent heat treatment or need to bear loads.
